Across the board, agency rates exceed directly employed rates.
67% of experts recommend allowing £31+ per hour on average for agency specialist nursing care. Whereas the majority of respondents (42%) would allow £26 - £30 per hour for directly employed carers – a potential saving of up to £5 per hour.

76% of agency recommendations are in the £21+ range.
Domestic assistance
Recommended domestic assistance costs remain below £20 per hour in the directly employed sector, even in the evenings and at weekend.
On the agency side, almost half of respondents put the level of costs at £21+ per hour at evenings (46%) and weekends (42%).
Personal / self care
Recommended agency rates for the majority (70%) of personal/self care are between £21 - £30 per hour.
This contrasts with direct employment where the overwhelming majority of rates (94%) are between £11 - £20 per hour.
Credit Hire
The rising cost of repairs plus skills and parts shortages have extended hire periods in the credit hire space. Meanwhile, Credit Hire Companies are more assertive about controlling claims and pushing litigation.
